here is a little video about Carolina & her dancing.
Please come back here and finish reading about my trip.
Carolina is a dancer with Baila! Baila!
A studio that specializes in the art of Traditional Mexican Folk Dance.
She started dancing at the age of 6 and loves it!
In the video is a picture of her when she was only 6, while at a performance for Cinco De Mayo (she danced at 4 different locations and 3 dances at each location)
She currently dances with the 10-13yr old advance group and has been since she was 7 years old.
Carolina is asking for your support for her trip next summer. She has been invited to travel to Florida with part of the dance studio. While in Florida she will travel to the Bahamas on Carnival Cruise Lines, while on the ship they will get to perform for all the travelers on board!
Then once back in Florida, they will perform again at Walt Disney World!!
She is extremely excited to be invited and of course to go! She cannot wait to swim with the dolphins, see Minnie Mouse and her Uncle Steve (who lives in Florida).
Her travel expenses are $2150 and she is asking for your help in raising the money to get there! Thank you
You can donate anything! Every dollar helps!
You can also support her fundraiser by purchasing from her fundraiser parties with:
Scentsy (ockerman.scentsy.us)
Velata (ockerman.velata.us)
Grace Adele (mabel.graceadele.us)
She is also selling candy bars plus so much more!!
She practices every day and is always moving her feet! There are LOTS of performances that she always gets to dance. The busiest times of the year are Cinco De Mayo and El Grito de Independencia (September 16th, Mexicos Independence Day).
She has gotten to perform at churches, schools, retirement homes, state fair, parades and even for the Governor Luncheon (governors conference, governors from NM, TX, AZ and Mexico). In the video is her before the performance; we couldnt take photos during the performance. (security was nuts, I had to be background checked andbadgebefore we could go backstage).
In the video, there is a picture of her after her performance at the NM State Fair (she danced 2x during the state fair week).
This year she was asked to dance a solo at an event, at the age of 7. There is a video of her at the end of this letter.
As of October 1st, she has been rehearsing for the upcoming Christmas Show. She dances 4 days a week for a total of 10 hrs. She is extremely dedicated.
There is chaos backstage but oh so worth it. In the video is a picture of what backstage might look like (This is the annual Christmas Show 2011-this year she is performing 6 dances, most 8yr olds are dancing 2xI am extremely proud of her)
She has made great friends and memories that will last a lifetime!
This is a video of Carolina, performing Salsa de Palma in Vaughn, NM-May 2012
